The republic's farmers, according to the latest data, have dug up more than 5.119 million tons of sugar beets and prepared almost 2.4 million tons of corn for grain, thereby completing the harvesting of the crops, a BelTA correspondent was told at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

In Belarus, more than 5.119 million tons of sugar beets have been dug up with an average yield in the republic of 493 c/ha, 103.9 thousand hectares of cultivated area have been harvested, which is 100% of the area to be harvested. Workers of the agro-industrial complex of Belarus also threshed almost 2.4 million tons of corn grain, the yield was 78.5 c/ha. 305.7 thousand hectares of sown areas allocated for corn for grain have been harvested, or 100% of the plan.

Today, about 10.29 million tons of grain, including rapeseed, have been threshed in all categories of farms. The leaders in threshing are workers of the agro-industrial complex of the central region of the country. In the total grain treasury, including rapeseed, Minsk region collected 2.8744 million tons, Grodno region - 2.3059 million tons, Brest region - 2.0788 million tons, Mogilev region - 1.1391 million tons, Gomel region - 1.0071 million tons, Vitebsk region - 882.1 thousand tons.

Along with harvesting, work continues on the preparation of grass feed. In total, over 9.5 million tons of feed units were harvested (97.2% of the plan).
 
Preparatory work for the next harvest is also underway. More than 1.144 million hectares of plowed land were raised in the country - 77.1% of the plan: in the Brest region 83.5% of plowed land was raised, in Vitebsk - 72%, in Gomel - 70.3%, in Grodno - 86.2%, in Minsk - 76.6 %, Mogilevskaya - 74.3%.
