Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory
The celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War united representatives of different generations. A festive column of government officials, honored guests, members of parliament, veterans of the Armed Forces and labor, representatives of labor collectives, workers in the social and cultural sphere, public organizations, and young people walked along the main street of the city and headed to Freedom Square, where the main festive events will take place.
Residents of the district united in the republican patriotic action “Belarus Remembers”. The heirs of the Victory walked with portraits of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Behind each of them is the fate of those who fought at the front, in partisan detachments, or home front workers, fallen heroes, or those who reached the victorious May of 1945 and then restored peaceful life in the country. The memory of relatives is kept in hearts and is passed on in families from generation to generation.
