At Vasilishki, the busy season of fieldwork continues.
At Vasilishki, the busy season of fieldwork continues. According to current information as of May 22, farmers have entered the final stretch of corn sowing and are actively preparing forage.
Corn sowing is almost complete. The only exception is those areas where winter interim crops are currently being harvested for forage. Currently, the primary focus of the growers is on crop care: chemical weeding is underway.
Alongside efforts to ensure the future harvest, the forage preparation campaign has begun. To date, more than 12% of the planned harvest area has been mown. To improve productivity and compaction of green forage, the farms are actively using special rollers, which allow for maximum forage compaction.
Particular attention is paid to the quality of the forage harvested at all stages. Responsibility for this work has been assigned to the agricultural organization’s veterinary service. Specialists continuously monitor compliance with technological requirements to ensure a reliable feed base for livestock farming.
Furthermore, to strengthen the forage potential, Vasilishki OJSC continues scheduled meadow improvements. Currently, 63% of the planned work on re-grassing and seeding perennial grasses in arable land has been completed.
